With their hands and words, Alexander teachers lead you through simple everyday sequences of movements. In this process, you become familiar with your response and movement patterns. You make the pleasant experience how light you feel when habitual responses and routine behaviour are replaced by a better coordination of mind and body and how this affects your being.

Step by step you become familiar with the basic principles of the work until you are able to apply them yourself, for your own good.

The number of lessons you take will depend on your particular needs and goals. Learning the A.T. involves changing longstanding habits, so improvement relies in part on your active participation. A course of 20 to 30 regular lessons can provide a good foundation for on-going selfdiscovery for most people.
